Dinky Toys 502 2nd Cab Foden Flat truck
Made available from my own collection.
This is one of the rarest variations of the flat truck. Finished in Teal Blue with a red back and blue ST wheels and displaying the second cab.
A similar colour can be found on the first cab with early blue wheels.
It comes in a blue box and orange wrap over label , correct for this version.

Dinky Toys 503 1st Cab Foden Flat truck with Tailboard
Supplied from my own collection.
This is a very scarce red cab Foden with matching flatbed and red ridged wheels on a black chassis and over masked front wheel arches with matching black cab side flashes. As the first casting introduced to the Dinky model range in August 1947, it has no mould block to allocate a small tow hook which was not introduced until October 1948. Also no tank slots which were not introduced until October 1948. An additional important point is that it has no casting support for the chain posts underneath as this was not introduced until January 1952. There is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model.
A very hard model and colour variation to find in any condition. This is a bright example and high quality item.
Fully light tested and free of any known interference.

Dinky Toys 503 1st Cab Foden Flat truck with Tailboard
This is a very scarce grey cab Foden with matching flatbed on a blue chassis and over masked front wheel arches, with matching blue cab side flashes and ridged wheels.
Most models of this scarce colour have no mould block for a rear hook but this is one of the last models of this colour issue which received a mould block and small un painted tow hook, which was not introduced until October 1948. Also no tank slots which were not introduced until October 1948. An additional important point is that it has no casting support for the chain posts underneath as this was not introduced until January 1952. There is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model. Finally as a later 1948 model it came with black grip tyres not the earlier herringbone type.
A very hard model and colour variation to find in any condition. This is a bright example.

Dinky Toys 503 1st Cab Foden Flat truck with Tailboard
Made available for sale from my own collection built up and constantly upgraded over the last 25 years.
This Foden 1st cab tail board lorry with violet blue cab and chassis and orange bed, cab side flashes and blue ridged wheels is a scarce and very late issue of its colour release around 1952 only. How do we know this? Most models of this colour released during it's four year production run had no mounts below the bed to support a chain bosses used for the chain lorry. This model has the cast bosses as well as the tank slots for the tanker version.
The casting support for the chain posts underneath were introduced in January 1952. There is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model. Finally as a post 1948 model it came with black grip tyres not the earlier herringbone type.
Light tested and free of any added touch ins.

Dinky Toys 503 1st Cab Foden Flat truck with Tailboard
Supplied from the Shropshire collection.
This Foden 1st cab tail board lorry is a rare issue believed to be only released for about one year in 1953-54 in Brunswick green cab and chassis with a green bed and ST hubs with black ST tyres. It has a mould block and houses a bare metal tow hook. The axle rods are held by metal clips. There are no casting supports chain bosses and tank slits like the casting for the petrol tankers.
Light tested and original except for two tiny touch ins unseen by the eye..

This is a hard to find early issue Foden 1st Cab Tanker, in violet blue cab and chassis, with a blue tank and ridged wheels and silver cab flashes. It has a mount block at the rear which supports a large unpainted hook. It naturally has the tank slits for mounting the tank and also has the early black herringbone tyres. This was the first issue with silver flashes and lower production was made of this first release until the next model came with a blue flash to the cab sides.
It continues to have no casting support for the chain posts underneath as this was not introduced until January 1952. The spare tyre has a riveted mount and no screw and nut.
It has no flats to the tyres which are now nicely hardened and a full '20mph' transfer on the rear left wheel arch.

Dinky Toys 504 Foden Mobilgas Tanker 1st issue
Supplied from a Somerset shop owners estate in September 2022 who retained some shop stock Dinky Toys dating from 1953-1961.
Believed never to have been in circulation and where I have viewed and selected around 100 stock for sale. No touch-ups noted except a factory touch to a Weetabix Van which is known to have regularly occurred. If you want to know what is there just give me a call.
