A rare Dinky Gift Set 4 Racing Cars.
1st I have offered for sale. All are correct early racing cars.
The set comprises:
1) 23G Cooper-Bristol in green, racing number 6. Excellent with one main chip to shoulder. Minor marks otherwise. Tyres nice.
2) 23F Alfa Romeo in red, racing number 8. Near Mint. Occasional small marks. Nice tyres.
3) 23h Ferrari in blue, racing number 5. Excellent plus (chipping at the nose) .Minor marks otherwise. One racing number faded. Nice tyres.
4) 23J HWM in light green with racing number 7. Excellent Chipping to the head otherwise virtually mint. Nice tyres.
5) 23N Maserati. Excellent plus. 2 chips to driver otherwise virtually mint. Nice tyres.
All are set on the original slotted card insert which is clean and tear-free. Box base is complete and presents well. Printed lettering is un-faded. Original tape which kept the lid closed is visible on the box underside and some surface loss. The colourful striped box lid is complete with no graffiti. Strong corners with no damage.
Complete with top and base inner packing.
Light tested and original.

A rare set.
All items appear to be the originals from this set , being in broadly similar condition, paint lustre and tyre condition/colouring. So not a later made-up set.
Having a very nice box and inserts makes this a special set.
The first I have ever owned and much harder to find than the later 249 Gift set with later model numbers.
Models range from excellent to near mint.
A very nice box lid and base with no broken corners. It includes the base piece with printed model description but also the very rare top packing piece cover which also has the model descriptions.
