Description
Supplied on request from my own Dinky collection.
Here is one of the rarest Dinky commercials the special promotional ‘Corn Products Tanker.
Based on the second casting of the Leyland Petrol Tanker incorporating a plastic tanker shell a special promotional model was produced from the BP-Shell petrol Tanker. (Ist casting was Dinky 943 ESSO Petrol Tanker with metal tank)
Issued with a white cab, tanker body, white plastic hubs and black chassis, “Corn Products (Sales) Ltd” to front of cab and “Sweeteners for Industry” on black paper label decal band around tanker body -plain white lift off lid card box with yellow base.
Several have survived but are extremely rare with most surviving models tucked away in cherished collections.

Item Condition
In superb condition with little evidence of any wear. Appears chip free and totally original. The most minimal of age discolouring to the plastic tank.
It retains full original labelling. Minimal curling to the edges on the back label strip.
This was the most expensive purchase I ever made for a single model and one that retains the same enthusiastic attraction to collectors. This example I have owned for 16 years.
Few were made, possibly around 600-to 650 but I have no reliable facts on this.

The all white top box over yellow base is as nice as you will find. Almost mint. Most minor marks only.
