Description
The Guy lorries like their bigger brother the Fodens have been the heart of serious Dinky collectors for many years. They are so often professionally repainted or touched up, partly due to the high premiums that are commanded. It’s very difficult to source these early commercials and find them in their original state. This model is one of the earliest and in outstanding condition. The early Guys continued to 1954 when they went through renumbering to 913 up until 1956. This model is in the grey cab with grey tailboard, black chassis and masked front wheel arches and wheels. It has original early smooth tyres and small tow hook. No numbering on the base and Dinky Supertoys Guy on base. A spare is mounted below with original silver nut and bolt.

This example is in outstanding condition and I believe this model has been tucked away in an old collection for years. You never see these old Guys in this condition. Only an occasional mark from mint. Fully inspected with an ultra violet light and no touch ups evident. The retaining screw is a little rusty but the retaining nut is still shiny and it sports a clean base plate. Firm but still supple original tyres.
An amazing model now over 65 years old.
Fully light tested and no touch-ins observed.

Box Condition
This is a very nice box, with no evidence of repair. The early buff box has no broken or repaired corners. The top red label is complete. The end label is missing. The staples now rusty.
