This Foden 1st cab tail board lorry with violet blue cab and chassis and orange bed, cab side flashes and blue ridged wheels is a scarce and very late issue of its colour release around 1952 only. How do we know this? Most models of this colour released during it’s four year production run had no mounts below the bed to support a chain bosses used for the chain lorry. This model has the cast bosses as well as the tank slots for the tanker version.
The casting support for the chain posts underneath were introduced in January 1952. There is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model. Finally as a post 1948 model it came with black grip tyres not the earlier herringbone type.
Light tested and free of any added touch ins.

The condition is very near mint. Occasional marks only on this very bright and fresh looking example. The wheels, tyres, axle rods and base are very nice and the black grip tyres have no flats. There is a complete 20mph transfer to the rear wheel arch and a silver bed screw and silver nut and bolt below. There are some small marks to base.
So often Foden & Guy lorries as premium pieces can come with touch up and repainted areas.
So hard to find in such nice and bright condition, A fresh example.

This is the correct later 1st series box in blue card with an orange full wrap over both ends label. There is a large ‘B’ to one end in blue signifying the colour of model within. There is some age grubbiness now but it is a strong box with no damage to label or box. The top section is lightly faded to the darker unfaded blue base with minor scuffing to the base.
