Description

A rare colour 1st cab Foden flat truck in mid blue over a midnight blue chassis and ridged hubs in superb condition. The best I have handled.

As the first casting introduced to the Dinky model range in August 1947, it has no mould block to allocate a small tow hook which was not introduced until October 1948. Also no tank slots which were not introduced until October 1948.

Also, there is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model. It has original fine herringbone tyres with bright shiny axles.

It comes in a correct early red label box with a blue ‘B’ printed on the end label.

Black light tested and not a sign of any touch-ins or interference.

Item Condition

The model is in very, near mint condition. Light rubs to edges of some arches with an occasional mark elsewhere. The 20 mph sign on a back wheel is complete. Hubs, tyres and base are great.

Presents well and would be a superb rare Foden acquisition.

So often Foden & Guy lorries as premium pieces can come with touch up and repainted areas. This is an honest model free of any known touch ins.

A very hard model and colour variation to find.

Excellent - Possible re-attached flaps or some bigger flap tears. May include one or more of the faults as in the above grade.

Box Condition

The correct early brown box with a correct red and white top and side label displays a blue ‘B’.

. The box base is sound and a grade 4. The box topapart from rusty staples all round has a grubby label and some loss mainly to the end label. A correct base code of ‘M42’ in matching blue circle to the box base.
