Dinky Toys 502 1st Cab Foden Flat truck

Description

I am now making available for sale my whole Foden collection built up and constantly upgraded over the last 25 years.

This is a very scarce blue cab Foden with matching flatbed on a dark blue chassis and over masked front wheel arches. As the first casting introduced to the Dinky model range in August 1947, it has no mould block to allocate a small tow hook which was not introduced until October 1948. Also no tank slots which were not introduced until October 1948. Also there is a spare tyre mounted to the chassis by a correct silver nut and bolt. Please note that a black nut and bolt were not issued for any 1st cab model.

Excellent Plus - Some obvious markings, a major chip or several smaller. Any touch-ins are always clearly stated.

Item Condition

The model is in excellent condition. The flatbed is particularly nice with only the most minor of marks. There are several chips around the model, some to the cab roof and then generally around the wheel arches. The 20 mph sign on a back wheel arch is rubbed in part. The front of the cab is very nice with a clear silver front bumper, just some scrapes down the outer upright edges. The dark blue wheels and tyres are very nice with no flats to record. Original tyres and now nice and firm.
So often Foden & Guy lorries as premium pieces can come with touch up and repainted areas. This is an honest model free of any known touch ins with some small play wear history.

A very hard model and colour variation to find in any condition. Not a perfect model but a very nice example if missing from your collection with a very nice and correct box.
Fully light tested and free of any known interference.

Box Condition

Excellent Plus - Minor edge wear, starter tears or heavy pricing. Could also be graffiti or tape residue, but good overall.

Box Condition

The correct early brown box is very nice with a correct red and white top and side label. The label has a small area on top side of defacing probably through a price label being removed and minor stain marks. It is still bright in colour. The correct ‘B’ for blue is on the end tab and the correct matching base code of ‘M42’ in matching blue circle.
