Description
Rare Dinky Gift Set 298 “Emergency Services”.
This is a scarce gift set, it comprises:
1) 258 Ford Fairlane with an original shiny black finish, intact ‘roof light’, and complete POLICE lettering front and rear. Original white-painted doors with ‘POLICE’ lettering on both doors. Shiny spun wheels with suspension and original fine tread (as-new!) tyres. With missing aerial and a matt baseplate. Paint work about mint with no flaws seen.
2) 263 Superior Criterion Ambulance with patient on stretcher. Original off-white finish with intact ‘roof light’ and siren. Red side lines are very nice. Complete ‘Ambulance’ transfers on both sides. Just a couple of roof edge rubs and an odd nick. With both internal figures.
3) 276 Fire Tender. Vibrant red finish throughout (no sun fading whatsoever!). Fine lustre. Intact roof light, water cannon and a shiny bell. Complete ‘AIRPORT FIRE CONTROL’ lettering on both sides. Shiny spun wheels. Original treaded tyres. Matt base. Very near mint with tiny marks only.
4) 277 Superior Criterion Ambulance. Near mint+ with a metallic blue and white finish, both seated figures, intact roof light, and siren. Shiny spun wheels, original white tyres. Suspension. Gloss shiny base. Complete ‘AMBULANCE’ transfers on both sides. Occasional marks and to the base plate.
The condition of the contents are believed to be originals from the set (i.e. not a later ‘made-up’ set with swapped contents). and consist of;
Seven stand up figures, one Fire Engine hose, an original instruction sheet and a test tag.
Light tested and original.

The box is complete. The usual depression to the box lid. Quite bright card. Slight card stain on inside of lid. No broken corners. One broken corner needs a careful repair.
A very difficult set to find. Only the second ever offered for sale.
