This is a rare and sought after 40 series model of the Standard Vanguard in all over maroon with beige ridged wheels. Rare to come to the market it is finished with smooth black original tyres, a large writing base plate and ridged hubs.
This is a very rare colour issued at the transitional stage of renumbering in 1953. It may have been supplied in a later trade box, a dual numbered individual or 153 box with a maroon spot applied.
