This is a rare and sought after 40 series model of the Standard Vanguard in all over maroon. Rare to come to the market it is finished with smooth black original tyres, a large writing base plate and ridged hubs.
This is a very rare colour issued at the transitional stage of renumbering in 1953. It may have been supplied in a later trade box, a dual numbered individual or 153 box with a maroon spot applied.
An amazing model in superb condition.
Fully light tested and totally original.

This rare Standard Vanguard is almost mint. Only the most minor box rubs. There is a small flat to one rear tyre all of which are now hardened.
No chipping.
Hard to find better than this, in fact near on impossible.
