Dinky Toys 028f ‘Virol’ Delivery Van Type 2

Description

Here is an original Type 2 ‘Virol’ van in yellow with black smooth wheels. Hard to find in any condition and where fatigue is the big enemy to this type 2 delivery van.  Completely original with original hardened white tyres with no flats on black smooth wheels. The deep yellow body has side transfers of a jar of Virol and says ‘Give your child a Virol constitution’ on each side.

What an opportunity for the connoisseur Dinky collector. Great to see there is no fatigue in this most vulnerable of series. Light tested for any obvious touch-ins and no evidence seen.

Available for sale from my own long standing personal Dinky collection.

There is no sign of fatigue in this casting. It has all original parts. As you would expect there is some paint loss but remains very presentable. Inside the casting it has received a heavy coat of varnish to strengthen the model and this will help to reduce future fatigue. There is little loss at all to the transfers on the sides.  The front axle is nice and straight with no signs of rusting. I think the rear axle may have been broken in the past as though I think original, it has been cleverly bound together to allow the model to freely roll.

A rare piece and  a likely great gap filler for the Pre-War enthusiast.
