Dinky Toys 451/031B Trojan “Dunlop” Van Maroon wheels
Provided from my own collection on request.
This is a harder to find version of the Trojan 'Dunlop' van in red with maroon wheels and also with the scarce early dual box. There were a series of 6 Trojan advertising vans, of which four were first issued from trade boxes. Then individual dual number boxes, except the Blue OXO and finally each had their own code when the last two, Cydrax & Brooke Bond which were issued in 1957.
However, back to the Dunlop. The only variation I am aware of, is that early models from trade boxes and transitional dual boxes had maroon wheels. Later models had red wheels.
This example has the early maroon wheels and comes in a correct dual numbered box. Fine red finish with black smooth tyres and un-numbered mottled base plate.
