Dinky Toys 297 Police Vehicles Gift Set
Supplied from my own collection.
This is a sought-after, three piece Police Gift set from Dinky, first issued during 1963. It comprises:
1) Dinky 250 Mini Cooper. This car has jewelled headlights, detailed casting with opening doors and bonnet, tipping seats and “POLICE” signs on doors and roof. Intact original roof aerial. Spun wheels. Silver base. Boot has a large transfer which includes number plate detail, Austin Cooper ‘S’ lettering and rear lights.
2) Dinky 255 Ford Zodiac. Another detailed cast model with jewelled front and rear lights, number plates front and rear, opening doors, bonnet and boot, detailed red interior. “POLICE” signs on the roof and doors. Suspension. Driver, detailed red interior. Intact original roof aerial. Bright chrome.
3) Dinky 287 Police Accident Unit. A fine and detailed model with a sliding driver’s door ( revealing driver seated behind the wheel), opening service door, jewelled headlights, “POLICE” roof sign and “POLICE ACCIDENT UNIT” labels at both sides. All complete. Intact roof aerial and radar gun. Space at rear for stowing the Warning Signs and cones.

Dinky Toys 298 Gift Set Emergency Vehicles

Dinky Gift Set 298 "Emergency Services".
This is a scarce gift set, it comprises:
1) 258 Ford Fairlane with an original shiny black finish, intact ‘roof light’, and complete POLICE lettering front and rear. Original white-painted doors with ‘POLICE’ lettering on both doors. Shiny spun wheels with suspension and original fine tread (as-new!) tyres. With aerial (slight repair) and a matt baseplate. Some light play only.
2) 263 Superior Criterion Ambulance with patient on stretcher. Original off-white finish with intact ‘roof light’ and siren. Red side lines are very nice. Complete ‘Ambulance’ transfers on both sides. Just a couple of small marks. With both seated figures.
3) 276 Fire Tender. Vibrant red finish throughout (no sun fading whatsoever!). Fine lustre. Intact roof light, water cannon and a shiny bell. Complete ‘AIRPORT FIRE CONTROL’ lettering on both sides. Shiny spun wheels. Original treaded tyres. Matt base. Near mint with tiny marks only.
4) 277 Superior Criterion Ambulance. Very near mint with a metallic blue and white finish, both seated figures, intact roof light, and siren. Shiny spun wheels, original white tyres. Suspension. Matt base. Complete ‘AMBULANCE’ transfers on both sides. Hardly a mark to be found.
The condition of the contents are believed to be originals from the set (i.e. not a later ‘made-up’ set with swapped contents). and consist of;
Seven stand up figures, one Fire Engine hose, an original instruction sheet.

This is a scarce gift set, it comprises:

3) 750 Telephone Box in very near mint condition with a gleaming red and silver paint finish. Occasional mark. Some marks to base underside rim.

Dinky Toys 029H/282 Duple Roadmaster Coach
Supplied from the Dutch collection of 250 models.
Featured in the new Sales Book 10 released May 2023. US Export Coach.
This very scarce version of the Roadmaster is finished in dark green and cream with red ridged wheels on a mottled base plate.
Made for the US export market the body colour featured the usually found version with cream hubs and the rare version with green hubs. It runs on well shaped black smooth tyres.

Dinky Toys 300 Massey Ferguson Tractor
This model was first issued in 1948 and eventually ceased in 1971. It was one of the longest running Dinky models ever produced lasting over 2 decades. It started as the Massey Harris being eventually renamed Massey Ferguson around 1966. This is a later less common model and details as follows. Bright red body with yellow cast rear wheels and yellow plastic front wheels. Yellow Massey Ferguson transfers. It has a late plastic blue driver, mat base plate with silver metal steering wheel with one black metal and one yellow plastic exhaust stack.

Dinky Toys 300 Massey-Ferguson Tractor, finished in bright red with yellow wheels, plastic to the front and metal to the rear. It has a black steering wheel one metal black stack and one plastic yellow stack. The farmer is in blue. An unpainted tow hook to the rear. The base plate is late issue in matt black.
Yellow identity transfers read 'Massey Ferguson' on each side of the engine.
It comes in a correct lighter yellow picture box with additional attached identity tag. The description and picture on the box say 'Massey Harris'.
