Dinky Toys 189 Triumph Herald Rare Promotional

Description

Supplied from my own collection.

A Diecast Gem.

I am now making available a very rare Triumph Promotional in all over powder blue with fine silver coach lines to each side.

Many of my rare Promotional models are now sold but this one I retained. Extremely hard to find and replace with prices rocketing for these rare Dinky models. This is one of the hardest colours to find, I have only seen two examples in 30 years.

Supplied by Dinky for Triumph to reflect the original colours being offered to the public for the real version. They were distributed not through retail arms but I believe through Triumph dealerships in very limited numbers to promote the car brands new models of the 2000 & Herald.

Dinky 189 Triumph Herald Promotionals are extremely sought-after and difficult to find, this is an all original example of one of the rare Promotional Triumph models. This model is attractively finished in all over Powder Blue, black shiny base plate, spun wheels (suspension). glazing.

It comes in a correct box described below.

Totally original.

Mint - May have the most minor fault from mint.

Item Condition

In virtually mint condition most would accept as mint so being cautious.

Single colour Heralds appear much harder to find than a colour with white. Most as this one does have fine silver coach lines. Suspension is nice and no faults to account for.

Stunning and very rare.

The final picture image shows this example alongside the standard  blue and white version for comparison.

. A highly prised Dinky and a most sought after colour.

Near Mint - Possible edge wear, card dulling, heavier pricing, light graffiti or signs of removed labels.

Box Condition

The correct box is a standard picture box with blue and white end spot.

However on the end is a stamped number ‘6’ which I believe indicates the colour version of the promotional.

I have seen several standard boxes and always with the blue and white spot with printed numbers to the end flap indicating a different colour variation of a promotional colour.

This box has an inner side flap missing but I have never wanted to change the box due to the printed log number which was not supplied I believe on standard issues.

Apart from the missing flap the box is sound with a light crush but fresh card. Naturally as would be expected no retailers price.
