Dinky Toys 451/031B Trojan “Dunlop” Van Maroon wheels
This is a harder to find version with maroon wheels and particularly the early dual box. There were a series of 6 Trojan advertising vans, of which four were first issued from trade boxes. Then individual dual number boxes, except the Blue OXO and finally each had their own code when the last two, Cydrax & Brooke Bond which were issued in 1957.
However, back to the Dunlop. The only variation I am aware of, is that early models from trade boxes and transitional dual boxes had maroon wheels. Later models had red wheels.
This example has the early maroon wheels and comes in a correct dual numbered box. Fine red finish with black smooth tyres and un-numbered mottled base plate.

Dinky Toys 452/031C Trojan Chivers Van
Supplied from my own collection.
Becoming a more difficult find of the Trojans it is finished in all over green with matching ridged hubs. Fine silver finish to radiator and front bumper. Transfers to either van side. Smooth black original tyres where model rolls well.
Light tested and original.

Dinky Toys 453 Trojan ‘OXO’ Van
Supplied from a Somerset shop owners estate in September 2022 who retained some shop stock Dinky Toys dating from 1953-1961.
The last available of 4.
Believed never to have been in circulation and where I have viewed and selected around 100 stock for sale. No touch-ups noted except a factory touch to a Weetabix Van which is known to have regularly occurred. If you want to know what is there just give me a call.
